Since 1870 JSC "Northern Shipping Company" has been successfully engaged in
sea shipping all over the world. The Company possesses abundant operational
experience in the delivery organization of timber products of the Arkhangelsk
region.
The Company has plans for the future. It aims its funds to the renewal of
fleet and consolidation of its positions on the freight market.
The fleet consists of universal dry-cargo ships with deadweight of 2.500 -
14.000 tons, delivering all kinds of dry cargo, including radioactive and
dangerous one.
Liner service through ports of Arkhangelsk and St.Petersburg provides regular
cargo delivery to the main European ports.
The majority of the vessels are equipped for the carriage of 20 - 40 feet
containers and refrigerated containers.
NSC also perform multimodal freight traffic, cargo delivery to the wild
shores, technical management (repairing, supplying, shipchandlering and storing
services), crewing, crew training, all kinds of dredging, ice -breaker convoy,
diving, rescue and underwater-technical works.
The fleet and the Company itself have a certificate according to the
requirements of safety standards, which guarantees safe dry cargo shipment.
All vessels have insurance protection. The insurance of vessels and carrier's
responsibility is covered in first - rate insurance companies and associations,
which are well- known in the world.
The existence of ice - breaker class allows vessels to work in the areas of
hard ice conditions. Ice breakers of the Company provide all-the-round
navigation in Archangelsk and St.Petersburg.
